Welcome!

BSA Troop 129B&G meets the first 3 Tuesdays of each month at Saint Paul the Apostle Parish, 6400 Spring Street, Mount Pleasant, WI. Starting Fall of 2024, we are part of the pilot program for Scouting USA for conjoined troops where both male and female scouts are allowed to be work together in 1 troop instead of a separate Boy and Girl troop.

We also have an outing or activity each month that may involve camping, biking, hiking, completing merit badges, doing a service project, and/or a sporting event or any other physical activity. All scouts are eligible to attend the monthly outing. In the summer, we attend a week-long summer camp, and we have a High Adventure activity for our scouts in the 8th grade or above. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit and get involved with the troop.

We are part of the Red Arrow District within the Three Harbors Council, BSA. If you are interested in joining our troop and would like more information please come to one of our meetings or call or email one of the people listed below.

History of Troop 129
Troop 129 was originally chartered as Troop 29 by Frank’s Pure Foods on December 5, 1930. The Troop Committee consisted of H. Siefert, W. Place, Dr. F.J. Fritchen, W. Tamm, and W. Derby. Troop 29 originally consisted of Scoutmaster Orville R. Briscoe and 7 boys: George Tamm, William H. Tamm, Jack R. Metcalf, Ed Klopproth, Jacob Vogel, Art Vogel, and Charles Lloyd.

After a decade of operation, the troop went inactive during World War II. At the end of the war, the troop reactivated and has been continuously chartered since 1947. Troop 129 was sponsored for many years by the Franksville Businessmen’s Association. In 2006 the troop started meeting at Faithbridge United Methodist Church. After 2 years, Faithbridge became our Chartering Organization in March 2008. After 12 years at Faithbridge the troop relocated to Saint Paul the Apostle in 2020. Starting in 2023 both troop 129B and 129G rechartered with Salmon Unlimited Wisconsin while retaining our meeting location at Saint Paul the Apostle.
